Letter Concerning Deacon Election For 2008

Well, I went to check my mail yesterday evening and there it was…a letter from the church. No, I haven’t had time to read it yet, but I believe it has something to do with deacons. I wish I could be a deacon. I bet I could get this church in line. But, I’m a woman and these current deacons aren’t going to let that happen this side of glory, so we women folk will just have to band together and all pick the same names to nominate. I mean, really, I barely make it to church on time in the mornings, how am I supposed to pray over these names when I don’t even know who most of these men are? I can tell you who I’m not going to vote for, that’s for sure. Qualifications, who determines these qualifications anyway? I know they covered the new policy for deacon nomination and election on the last Wednesday night business meeting, but that is my favorite TV night so I couldn’t make it. Well, let me go call some friends of mine to see who they plan to vote for incase I need to change their minds.

Sooooo..... I'm having trouble finding the humor. This is legitimate stuff. I mean really, it's HOT out there. And I *could* fix the church if I could be a deacon. And as far as "Who Do" cards, it SHOULD be "Who Do You Think You're Foolin'" cards because I know a lot of fakes over at that church. ;-)

(all tongue-in-cheek, of course) :-)

Greetings Evelyn,

Welcome to the pew. I look forward to what you have to tell...

That would explain why you are not a deacon . . . I had to stop and make sure this was not for real!

Hey mrw,

No, this entire blog is meant to be a parody of sorts. Sad thing is, quite often people of the church sitting right in the pew have a mindset of exactly these thoughts. Hopefully we feel ashamed and repent if ever we do.

Thanks for the visit.
